Cake:
- 1 ½ cups apple cider
- ½ cup melted unsalted butter
- ½ cup sour cream
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 (13 1/4-ounce) package yellow cake mix
- ½ cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon McCormick® Ground Cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon McCormick® Ground Nutmeg
Spiced Sugar Topping:
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon McCormick® Ground Cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon McCormick® Ground Nutmeg
Preparation
- Make the cake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Whisk together the apple cider, melted butter, sour cream, eggs, and vanilla in a 10-inch square baking dish.
- Whisk in the cake mix, brown sugar, McCormick® Ground Cinnamon, and McCormick® Ground Nutmeg until smooth.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, until the center of the cake is firm and a toothpick comes out clean. Remove from the oven, and let cool for 20 minutes.
- Spiced sugar topping: Sprinkle the sugar, McCormick® Ground Cinnamon, and McCormick® Ground Nutmeg evenly over the cake. Slice and serve.
